Mees works as a consultant at EHdK on issues in the social domain and healthcare. He grew up in Groningen and combines a down-to-earth outlook with curiosity and an eagerness to learn. After a bachelor's degree in microbiology, he consciously chose the master's in Management, Policy Analysis & Entrepreneurship in Health and Life Sciences, because he noticed that he gets energy from working in practice.
Through his mother's youth care career, Mees got to know the domain up close. In his work he therefore enjoys being involved in youth care, both from providers and municipalities, and sees how important good commissioning and cooperation are. He also works on issues about the future of mental health care, including within the Integral Care Agreement. Mees likes to bring calm when many interests come together and works step by step towards concrete results, moving flexibly with what is needed at that moment.
Mees lives with his girlfriend in Utrecht. In his spare time he likes to play soccer. Recently he got the idea to make his own footballs out of leather.
"What one must learn to do, one learns by doing."
